Summer Programs 2012
MakeCollegeReality.com is taking our college admissions and financial aid advice to the next level. We are developing a one week summer program in the Hartford, CT area to help students put into practice the advice found on the website.
The program will consist of 10-15 students who will meet for two hours a day for personalized guidance in the college process. Topics will include: the essay, cover letters and resumes, application, and interviews for admission. Topics in the financial aid section will include: scholarships, FAFSA, CSS profile, and IDOC.
Students will have the opportunity to ask specific questions and work on their own applications. At the end of the workshop, students will have a better understanding in theory and in practice of all that it takes to prepare, apply, and succeed.
To be eligible to enroll in the workshop, students are required to:
- Be enrolled in a high school class of 2013 or 2014.
- Have access to a computer and the internet outside of the workshop.
- Have a GPA of 3.0 or higher.
- Want to enroll in a 4-year college or university.
- Be able to provide their own transportation to the designated location (TBD - will be somewhere in the greater Hartford area).
